about
digital technologies for creativity
The MAGNETICS project is funded by the French Edu-up initiative and coordinated by the FabLab of Aix-en-Provence.
Through MAGNETICS, the project team is willing to promote digital tools such as electronic boards and programming, as new vectors to implement innovative and active pedagogical methodologies within secondary schools. This commitment is aiming to develop creativity and interdisciplinarity within STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics) education.

our pedagogical objectives
programming
using programming as a vector for innovative practices in STEAM education within secondary schools
interdisciplinarity
encouraging interdisciplinarity by promoting new use of digital educational tools
creativity
promoting active pedagogy, creativity and curiosity for STEAM topics
a technical prototype designed and tailored to the needs of the teachers
The MAGNETICS project has the technical objective of developing a mesh prototype between Scratch, MakeCode and CircuitPython, in order to reuse and capitalize on data collected by several electronic boards and exploited on several systems within different disciplines of the STEAM spectrum, stimulating interdisciplinarity and making it possible to optimize the use of the tools available to teachers
our technical bricks
digital mesh
between Scratch, MakeCode and CircuitPython (main programming learning tools used within secondary schools)
bluetooth low energy
BLE mesh technology enabling to connect and create a dialogue between a larger number of devices, extending the communication range
interoperability
ensuring compatibility between programming boards, especially the main educational solutions on the market i.e. STM32, Raspberry Pi and micro:bit
